KEYNOTE SPEAKERScott Hayden, Head ofAmazon IP
Scott Hayden is the Vice-President and Chief Intellectual Property Officer at Amazon.com, Inc., and has held this position since 2006. In this role, he is responsible for Amazon’s global portfolio of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, domains, and trade secrets.
Prior to joining Amazon, Scott held various leadership positions at the General Electric Company (GE), including the leader of GE’s Global Patent Operation, where he oversaw domestic and international patent preparation and protection efforts, the General Counsel at GE Transportation Systems Global Signaling, and the Senior Intellectual Property Counsel at GE-Harris Railway Electronics.
Before GE, Scott practiced intellectual property law at Armstrong Teasdale LLP and was an engineer and engineering manager at Emerson Electric Company in St. Louis, Missouri.
Scott earned his Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law, his
Master of Business Administration from Southern Illinois University, and his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Technology from Purdue University.
